Ice's Beautiful"Bo" Soul Fund

Ice's Beautiful"Bo" Soul Fund

This fund was inspired by and created in memory of Ice, Bo and Soullo.
These three amazing dogs were taken suddenly from this world in an unimaginable tragedy.
This tragedy hit home hard as these dogs owned - and continue to own - a huge part of our hearts.
It shook the agility community, hitting all of us hard and making us all realize how fragile life is and how quickly life can change.

The name of this fund, "Ice's Beautiful Soul," was created by Joshua Holmes, a close friend and the individual hit directly by this tragedy. Honouring all three dogs - Ice, Bo and Soullo - the name also aims to capture the essence and spirit of each of these amazing souls. (Bo, otherwise known as "Beau," is fittingly represented by the word in "Beautiful.").

The sole purpose of this fund is to provide support to the dog agility community during times of tragedy and hurt!

The dog agility community is one of a kind. It is made up of individuals who have a unique bond with their dogs and with one another.
Strength, when the unimaginable and impossible occurred, is what was characterized this community following the tragic loss of Bo, Ice and Soullo. The community came together, and through its support, uplifted the broken hearts.
This fund aims to repay the indescribable connectedness and support displayed by the agility community in the wake of, this tragedy.
It is designed to provide a source of comfort within the dog agility community; should a simliar tragedy or painful event strike this community again, the fund will be used to provide significant and immediate support to the individuals directly affected.

See below for the initial plans for this fund...
The initial plans for this fund will be to provide immediate financial support to individuals within the dog agility community who are directly affected by tragedy.
Tragedy is defined as an event of significant loss, be it by physical destruction or emotional,- suffering or distress.

As the fund grows, we will move towards our ultimate dream for it! Keep reading...

We have two main dreams for this fund:

1)
To never have to use it! -  Our dream is that this fund will grow and grow and grow....and that no individual  within our agility community will have to experience a tragedy like the one that triggered the creation of the fund.
However, the dream is for the fund to be here if ever such a need arises.
2)
To expand it - See the Levels below for more details on the plan for this fund.

Can you imagine a fund dedicated to assisting  fellow members of your dog agility community in times of need? Can you imagine never having to hesitate about getting a surgery for your dog post injury because of financial constraints?
Or knowing that if the unthinkable were to happen, help would be sitting there ready to be provided?
We can imagine all of these things!!! And that is the dream for Ice's Beautiful Soul!

How will the fund grow?

  • FlatOut Dogs will be organizing events throughout each year aimed at raising money for this fund.

Some examples include:

  • FlatOut Dogs Challenge - This is a special event held during FlatOut Dogs agility competitions.
In the past, the winner of this challenge took home 75% of the entry fees collected in their height category, while the remaining 25% covered event expenses, such as medals and prizes.
Starting in the 2021 trial season, a change was made: 50% of the entry fees were awarded to the winner in each height category and the remaining 50% was placed in the Ice's Beautiful Soul fund. This formula will remain in place going forward.
  • Special events such as fun matches throughout the year
  • Raffle of baskets at events, etc.

  • By donation - We are currently accepting donations to build the fund.
